Octopus

Wip of octopus oil painting. About 20 hours of work so far. Started by sketching a rough drawing using a pencil on the canvas and blocking in a bit of color. Oil paint takes awhile to dry so it’s good to let it dry for 2-3 days between each stage. If not you will just create a mud painting. It’s good to build up many layers to create depth.
